Short Form 360 Agreement for Artist Services (Artist signs through furnishing company)—This is a “short form” of an agreement that a company (e.g., label) would use to sign a recording artist to a recording deal. This is known as a “360” deal because the label will take an interest in all of the artist’s revenue sources besides record royalties. This agreement has standard music industry terms, including the percentage amounts set forth in the form. Some of the information you will need to complete this agreement includes:
➢ Company/label name
➢ Artist name
➢ Name of artist’s furnishing company.
➢ Term (or duration) of the agreement and number of albums artist must deliver
➢ Financial obligations such as artist advances, recording budget, royalty amounts
➢ The Label share (percentage) of artist’s entertainment rights.
➢ Jurisdiction for the agreement
This is a “short form” because, while it contains the basic terms and conditions of the agreement and a long form that includes all the terms must be entered into sometime shortly thereafter, it is a binding agreement.
